Ferrous Metal

Mill+Busheling.jpg

We process ferrous metals including:

Structural Steel: beams, angles, tubing, plate, racks
Cast Iron: pipe, brake rotors & drums
Industrial grades: busheling, turnings, skeletons
Demolition grades: sheet iron/tin, maintenance scrap, machinery             Consumer grades: obsolete appliances and automobiles

Spartan Recycling can process everything that is made from metal including the kitchen sink!  Ferrous scrap metals primarily contain steel or other iron alloys and have magnetic properties.  This category also includes items that are mostly steel like automobiles and appliances.

We make retail purchases of these items at our location on Howard Street in Spartanburg (directly across from the UPS terminal off I-85 business at Hearon Circle) between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.  All vehicles unload ferrous scrap on a dedicated concrete receiving area reserved especially for our retail customers.

For industry we offer container and pick-up service.  Our fleet of trucks will transport your scrap metal directly to our Howard Street facility where it is tracked from your location across certified scales and logged into our accounting system for payment.

Nonferrous Metal

We process nonferrous metal including:

Copper: wire, pipes, electric motors
Brass: plumbing fixtures, radiators, bullet shells
Stainless Steel: sheet, tanks, grills,
Lead: wheel weights, auto batteries
Nickel alloys, tool steel, carbide

Nonferrous scrap metals include aluminum, copper, nickel and associated alloys (e.g., brass & stainless).  These metals are generally non magnetic.  Also included in this category are lead (and lead batteries) and precious metals.

We make retail purchases of these items at our location on Howard Street in Spartanburg (directly across from the UPS terminal off I-85 business at Hearon Circle) between the hours of 8:00 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday.  All vehicles unload non ferrous scrap in an indoor receiving area reserved especially for our retail customers.
